Everyone is different, and thats what make us all unique and lovable in our own ways. We at Artisan Carat understand that Fine Jewelry is an investment that needs to be worn carefully and comfortably, so it can last for an eternity. Here we have some ideas how to measure and understand different lengths and sizes so you can properly purchase and wear forever.
Ring Measurements
To determine your exact size, we strongly advise that you measure the size of your finger rather than the size of your ring.
1. Locate a string or ribbon and wrap it around the base of your finger. Ensuring that the ring fits comfortably, we suggest measuring your knuckle as well. When selecting a size, we recommend a ring that will slide on and off your finger easily.
2. Using a pen or marker, indicate the point on the ribbon or string where the ends meet.
3. Measure the string in millimeters with a ruler.
4. Choose the closest measurement in the chart to identify your ring size.
-Please avoid measuring your fingers when they are cold, wet, or swollen, as this will not be the most accurate.
-We only recommend sizing in half-millimeter increments.
Measuring Your Bracelet Size
With a flexible ruler or measuring tape, measure just above (look towards your elbow) the wrist bone, then make sure to add approximately a half-inch to 1 inch (for comfort) depending on how loose or snug you'd want your bracelet to be. Please measure in inches for specific sizing.
If you own a bracelet and enjoy the fit, you may measure it.
-We only recommend sizing in half-inch increments.
Measuring Your Necklace Length
You will need a thin piece of ribbon, measurement tape or at least a string of the appropriate length.
1). Please find a long string or ribbon, wrap it around your neck, placing it exactly where you'd like your pendant to hang.
2). Make it as comfortable as possible, understanding exactly the size/location for your Fine Jewelry.
3). Using a flexible ruler or tape measurer to determine the perfect length.
-Please note that the clasp and lock are included in the length.
-We only recommend sizing measurements in two-inch increments.
Understanding your height when choosing the proper length.
We are all beautiful in our own ways and understanding that is essential. Our height can also change the status of the Necklace around our necks. Having a short necklace on a tall person might make it look "tiny," and a long necklace on a shorter person might seem "overwhelming."
Here below is a recommended guideline, not intended for trendsetters. :)
Height below 5 foot 4 inches (1.5 m or 162 cm), we recommend necklace lengths measuring between 16 and 20 inches, most popular is 18 inches.
Height above 5 foot 4 inches through 5 foot 7 inches (162-170cm) necklaces of lengths 16 and 22 inches will work, most popular is still 18-20 inches.
Height above 5 feet 7 inches (170+ cm) look best in longer necklace lengths between 18 and 22 inches.
12-14" Necklace-Might fit like a choker and wraps close around the neck.
16" Necklace-Fits perfectly around the base of your neck similar to a collar.
18" Necklace-The most common size chosen by women, because of the perfect placement on the collarbone. (Artisan Carat recommendation)
20" Necklace- Worn slightly below the collarbone.
22" Necklace- A long necklace that lands at or just above the top of the bust.
